Perry Sudduth is Managing Director of CRE Services and new business development for CreditVest. With 37 years of experience in commercial real estate, Mr. Sudduth has had extensive involvement in all aspects of the business, with particular emphasis on equity investment, equity/debt recapitalizations, and new development. Mr. Sudduth additionally has managed a broad array of consulting assignments in primary and secondary markets across the United States and Canada.
Prior to joining CreditVest, Mr. Sudduth was Executive Director of Tower Realty Advisors LLC in Chicago, and before that served as President of Stone Bridge Advisors LLC, in New York. Mr. Sudduth’s early career was with Jones Lang Wootton (one of the two predecessor firms of what is today known as JLL) where he spent seven years as Head of Acquisitions for the firm’s Investment Management Group in New York. Over the span of his career, Mr. Sudduth has been involved with transactions totaling in excess of $3.1 billion, as well as countless consulting assignments for a wide range of institutional and high-net-worth clients.
Mr. Sudduth graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. He also holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business, where he received distinction as a SORD Scholar.
Roy Mlakar is a Director, CRE Services overseeing CreditVest’s relationship with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Roy has been involved in multi-family housing finance activities at CreditVest for over 22 years. During this time, he has been involved in the many aspects of refinancing low-income housing properties and bringing them into alignment with market rents including market rent studies, financial analysis and forecasting, site inspections, due diligence, and “greening” of affordable housing. Roy’s experience includes 223(a)(7), 223(f), and 221(d)(f) financings as well as additional funds transactions such as LIHTC and HOME Funds. In addition, he has experience in various other roles related to multifamily housing finance including contracts with government related entities. Since 2017, Roy has managed the CreditVest team dedicated to HUD as well as being involved in new business development within the low-income housing sector.
Roy has over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate. Prior to joining CreditVest in 2000, he was a Controller for Michael G. Zamagias Interests. In this role, he supervised all accounting, financing, and MIS functions for over 1,500,000 SF of developed commercial retail and office space and the evaluation of commercial real estate for potential purchase and investment by the company.
Roy has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Gannon University, and a MBA in Accounting/Finance from Saint Joseph’s University.
Evan Leja is a Director, CRE Services and shares responsibility for the management of CreditVest’s investment banking and private client relationships. In this role, he oversees the logistics and client satisfaction for specific clients as well as managing and training CreditVest’s underwriting teams for those clients. He joined CreditVest in 2010 and has more than 12 years of experience with commercial real estate underwriting and consulting. His experience covers all commercial property types and various loan products, from bank-held floating rate loans to commercial mortgage-backed securities products. Mr. Leja’s underwriting portfolio consists of world-renowned resorts, Class-A trophy assets, and large scale portfolios with loan values ranging from $3 million to over $1 billion.
Evan has possessed his PA Real Estate Salesperson License since 2007 and also has prior experience in student housing leasing and management. Additionally, he actively renovates, manages, and owns single-family, multi-family, and vacation rental properties in the Pittsburgh area.
Mr. Leja received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of South Carolina with Majors in both Finance and Real Estate as well as a Minor in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management.
Thaddeus Fields is a Managing Director overseeing CreditVest’s client relationships for government related entities. In this role, he manages the quality control and client satisfaction for multi-family housing finance clients as well as managing and training CreditVest’s underwriting teams for those clients. Thaddeus has over 16 years of experience in commercial real estate finance. Upon joining CreditVest in 2014, he built relationships with its commercial banking clients through providing due diligence and loan underwriting services for securitization. Today, Thaddeus and his team are responsible for reviewing more than $1 billion in loans each year for CreditVest’s multi-family housing finance clients. In addition to maintaining the firm’s long-term relationships with government related agencies, his focus is on cultivating and developing new relationships and avenues of business.
Prior to joining CreditVest, Thaddeus was a Vice President at PNC Bank. After completing PNC’s credit training program, Thaddeus worked in various real estate groups including: the Asset Resolution Team, managing a nationwide portfolio of troubled real estate assets to ensure successful resolution of troubled loans; the Investment Real Estate Group, providing credit analysis and underwriting for real estate loans to non-traditional real estate investors; and the Community Development Group, providing structuring, underwriting, and credit analysis of real estate loans for projects in distressed or revitalizing areas that included grants, tax credits, and other financing options.
Thaddeus has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Duquesne University and a MBA from Rice University.
Jon Mauro is a Director, CRE Services sharing responsibility for the management of CreditVest’s investment banking and private client relationships as well as CreditVest’s business development efforts. He has been involved with commercial real estate underwriting, consulting, brokerage and loan origination for more than 15 years. In addition, Jon spent numerous years working in the securities industry, including a tenure as an equity options floor trader on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. Jon’s commercial real estate experience covers all commercial property types and spans all stages of development, from land loans and construction lending to bridge loans and loans on stabilized properties. Jon also possesses expertise in financial modeling and Argus DCF valuation.
Jon spent a number of years working as an underwriter for CreditVest prior to the debt crisis of 2007/2008. He then advanced into a position with Grubb & Ellis, working in investment sales and assisting in the management and leasing of PPG Place, a six building, Class A, 1.5 million square foot, office and retail complex located in downtown Pittsburgh. Following this, Jon accepted a position with First National Bank of Pennsylvania working as a loan originator in the bank’s Investment Real Estate group, where he earned honors for his loan production with the bank. In early 2013, Jon returned to CreditVest to assume a senior role in developing new client relationships, pursuing new avenues of business, and overseeing the company’s due diligence functions for specific clients. Since Jon’s return, he has been involved in the underwriting of billions of dollars in new loan originations on behalf of the company’s clients.
Jon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Franklin & Marshall College as well as an MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business.
Andrea Humphrey is the Owner and President of CreditVest, Inc. Andrea is responsible for strategic planning, business development, and operations of the firm. In this role, she identifies target clients that meet strategic objectives and establishes relationships with those clients. With existing clients, Andrea maintains communication with senior client management to assure that CreditVest is exceeding expectations and to determine what actions might be taken to improve performance and increase market share. Operationally, Andrea is directly responsible for human resources and accounting, as well as compliance with all industry requirements. Ms. Humphrey also holds a seat on the Board of Directors of CreditVest.
Prior to assuming ownership of CreditVest, Andrea was a Vice President responsible for the management of CreditVest’s investment banking and private client relationships. In this role, she maintained and grew client relationships while internally training and managing teams of CreditVest underwriters. Over the years, Andrea has worked with investment banks, B-piece buyers, and the US Dept of Housing & Urban Development. During the mid-2000’s, she managed underwriting services for a major CMBS loan originator, focusing on their small balance program. Andrea has also managed the underwriting for a variety of large transactions, including prominent lifestyle centers, regional shopping malls, and major office complexes. Andrea joined CreditVest directly out of college and has more than 18 years of experience with commercial real estate underwriting and consulting. Her experience covers all commercial property types and various loan products, from bank-held floating rate loans to commercial mortgage-backed securities products.
Andrea received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Grove City College.
